Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to Next Generation Translator for Confluence app provided by TNG Technology Consulting GmbH ("TNG") on the Atlassian Marketplace. If you ("End User") download, install and/or use our app, you acknowledge that you have read and agree with the terms of our EULA and this Privacy Policy.

1. App usage

   1. The app is installed directly in the End User’s Atlassian system.

   2. If you are using your own translation backend: All data stored and processed by the app remains in the End User’s Atlassian system. TNG’s app does not transmit any data to TNG or any other external third-party system. Therefore, TNG does not have access to any data stored in the End User’s system when the End User installs TNG’s app.TNG’s app does not transmit any data to TNG or any other external third-party system.    3. If you are using TNG’s translation backend (e.g., during a trial): Data, such as pages, blog posts, and comments, is transferred to TNG’s translation backend. TNG’s translation backend processes the transmitted data to achieve a translation of the content. Data might be stored temporarily while a translation is being processed. No data from the End User’s Atlassian system will be stored permanently by TNG and the data may only be used for the purpose of translating it and returning the resulting translations. Usage statistics for the Cognito user provided to the End User might be stored in a database. This data will, however, never include any of the translation texts sent to TNG. TNG’s backend uses infrastructure on AWS in the eu-central-1 availability zone.

2. Customer support

   1. If the End User has issues or questions related to TNG’s app, the End User might want to contact TNG. In order to give the End User appropriate support, TNG might ask the End User to provide TNG with diagnostic information. It is completely up to the End User if the End User provides TNG with such information and if so, in which form. All data the End User provides to TNG is only used to analyze and solve the End User’s issue.

3. Contact data collection and privacy

   1. The Atlassian Marketplace provides TNG with contact data such as the End User’s name, company name, address, e-mail address and phone number if the End User buys or evaluates TNG’s app.

   2. TNG may use the End User’s contact data for sending e-mails with relevant information and marketing material regarding products and services similar or connected to the app during an active license or evaluation term and a period of six (6) months after its end. The End User can deny this right at any time by submitting a request to atlassian-apps@tngtech.com.

   3. TNG may contact the End User via e-mail when

      1. the End User starts an evaluation of the app,

      2. the End User buys the app,

      3. the End User permits to be contacted for a specific purpose (e.g., support),

      4. TNG would like to advertise products and services similar or connected to the app the End User has an active license for or is currently evaluating,

      5. TNG is legally required to inform the End User.

   4. TNG processes the End User’s contact data using Mailchimp as a subprocessor. TNG seeks to provide only that information to Mailchimp that is necessary to perform its specific function. All e-mails sent by Mailchimp are sent on TNG’s behalf and delivery is confirmed with the use of Cookies and other tracking technologies. This allows a statistical analysis of the success or failure of online marketing campaigns. Based on these technologies, TNG might see if and when a newsletter was opened and which links have been clicked.    5. Art. 6(1) lit. f GDPR acts as legal basis for the processing as the End User is a client or in the service of TNG (Rec. 47 Sent. 2 GDPR).

   6. TNG provides an option to the End User to opt-out of any e-mail communication unless TNG is legally required to inform the End User. If the End User does not want to receive e-mail communication by TNG, the End User may simply unsubscribe at any time by either using the unsubscribe button in the respective e-mail or by contacting atlassian-apps@tngtech.com.

   7. The End User has a right to access its contact data, to object to the processing of its contact data, to rectify, to erase, to restrict, to port its contact data and to apply to a data protection authority. TNG will retain the End User’s contact data during an active license or evaluation term and a period of six (6) months after its end.
